Well, this class was certainly a lot more work than I ever expected it would be and I thought of myself as somewhat technologically savvy before taking this course, but I was proved wrong. However, even though it was tough at times, I've learned a lot about 21st century skills and the direction in which we need to be leading our students.
One of my biggest challenges was time management and collaboration. It's hard enough to fit a grad class into my schedule, but having to also collaborate with another person via the web is very difficult, especially when we're in different time zones.
I did enjoy learning about some of the various tools out there. For example, the blog that I started to share information with my families (I hope to get back to that, now that I'll have more time!) I'm hoping that it will be a good way for my families to find information and also communicate with me and/or others. I also liked doing the digital story and I'd like to try to incorporate that into my work. I think several of my co-workers and I could do a really nice presentation of events we've been involved in over the year.
All in all, the past eight weeks went by quickly. I've enjoyed getting to "know" the other participants in the class and I've learned a lot from each one. I'm looking forward to putting to use some of these new skills I've learned and hopefully we'll see these skills become part of our schools' curriculum.
